I want to welcome you to my new web page and the 49 website!!!  

I have made it my mission to foster a collaborative partnership between staff, parents, students and the 49 community.  It was very apparent that the web and thus a 49 website would be the next step in strengthening the home-school connection.  Technology has become a constant in our lives and that of our students.  It is proving to be a great tool in the education field and one that we must take advantage of.   I am hoping that through the use of the website we will be providing a  place that helps  plug you in to our school building and community.  We also want our website to become something of an extension of our classrooms and be a true representation of our educational programs. As you may have discovered each grade/teacher is in the process of creating their own webpage.  Each webpage is being designed to meet the needs of  their specific age group and classes. 

Parental involvement is crucial in a child's academic life and the website should help remove some of the barriers that can arise in being involved.  The website also effectively removes the boundaries of time and distance.  As you continue to use our website you will see the high level of dedication and commitment by many of the teachers.

Lastly, communication is an essential element to our school community.  I hope that the website provides  easier accessibility and works to strengthen the communication between home and school.  We welcome communication from parents, as the home-school partnership is vital to reinforcing the skills learned in the classroom.
